I recently had the opportunity to take part in Dr. Jia Mei Chen’s Qi Gong classes. It has been a great and new experience to me. The exercises helped me to relax not only during the time of exercise but also I felt like I maintained that level feeling of relaxation throughout the day. Being a pianist, I have to deal with a lot of physical and emotional stress and I can honestly say that the Qi Gong exercises had a positive influence on me dealing with those kind of stress. I did not get as nervous as I used to get before a performance- especially on the days when I practiced the Qi exercises. On top of that my posture has improved and I became more flexible too. Dr. Chen is a wonderful and encouraging teacher and I would definitely recommend her Qi Gong classes to everyone, especially musicians.
