About Dr. Jia Mei Chen
Dr. Jia Mei Chen is an Iowa Board-Certified Doctor of Chiropractic who is extensively trained in the fields of chiropractic medicine, functional rehabilitation, nutrition, physiotherapy, acupuncture and Qigong.
After achieving a bachelor’s degree in psychology at University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Chen studied chiropractic medicine at University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the prestigious National University of Health Sciences. At these two institutions, she studied first hand from some of the brightest and the best in the country. To further her training, she spent a year in Taiwan, learning directly from prominent healers in the fields of Qigong and holistic medicine. Dr. Chen is also certified in Acupuncture.
Dr. Chen focuses her practice in pain management, musculoskeletal disorders, sports injury, stress management, occupational injury, and preventative care.
In addition to standard chiropractic therapy, Dr. Chen uses the principles of Qigong to help her patients not only restoring health, but maintaining it. She also offers individual and group lessons on the study of this profound ancient Chinese energy science.
While well versed in healing modalities without the use of medication and surgery, Dr. Chen believes in the scientific principles of Allopathic Medicine. Dr. Chen believes in working in conjunction with the doctors of Allopathic Medicine (MDs) to bring her patient the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and adequate treatment possible. In fact, her husband is a physician at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
